By the year 2000 the largest percentage of Catholics in the United States will be Hispanic. As members of the Church today, all of us need to listen to this ethnic group as it expresses its needs and desires. In 1987, the National Conference of Catholic Bishops published a 'National Pastoral Plan for Hispanic Ministry.' Leading pastoral theologians have taken a critical look at the plan and have presented in the present book their reflections and suggestions. Each author focuses on a particular dimension of the plan and explores the implications and challenges facing pastoral ministers.
