Venn's ministry, spanning as it did virtuially the second half of the century, brought him into contact with Christians at all levels of eighteenth century society. These letters provide a fascinating insight into the life and times of a significant eighteenth century evangelical minister who counted Lady Huntingdon, Fletcher of Madeley, John Newton, William Cowper, and many other evangelical leaders among his friends.
